fostering Families - Hillsborough County
Every child should live with a family that will love and guide them and every family deserves a chance to become stronger and more resilient. Fostering Families licenses and supports foster family homes to care for children that have been temporarily removed from their families. Fostering Families provides interested families with training and support to help them nurture and mentor the child so they can be safely reunified or adopted. These dedicated families receive lots of guidance and care, including:
- Parent training
- Comprehensive support during foster care licensure or placement
- Ongoing and regular consultation, including 24/7 on-call support
- Clinical services
- Ongoing monthly support, home visits, and training
The challenge can be great, but so are the rewards!
Patience, commitment, and unconditional support are key to parenting children in foster care. Most children thrive as they adjust and grow in a secure home environment. There are licensing requirements to be a foster family, and foster parents must be consistent, flexible, strong, and nurturing.
